Little Navmap route 3: Ivano Frankivsk to Cluj Napoca

Vertrek: Ivano-Frankivsk UKLI

"Stanisławów was founded as a fortress and was named after the Polish hetman Stanisław "Rewera" Potocki. Some sources claim it was named after his grandson Stanisław. After World War II it was changed by the Soviet authorities into a simplified version Stanislav. In 1962, to honor the Ukrainian writer Ivan Franko on the city's 300th anniversary, it was renamed Ivano-Frankivsk (or Ivano-Frankovsk, according to the Kharkiv orthography). Due to the city's wordy name, unofficially it is sometimes called simply Franyk by its residents. Even though Ivano-Frankivsk is the officially accepted name, the city's original name has never been fully abandoned and/or forgotten and can be found throughout the city in all kinds of variations."

1 tussenstop: Maramures LRBM

"Maramureș International Airport (IATA: BAY, ICAO: LRBM) is a minor international airport in northwest Romania, located in Tăuții-Măgherăuș, 10 km west of Baia Mare municipality and in the historic region of Maramureș. Tăuții-Măgherăuș was declared a town in 2004. The Baia Mare Airport is located in the town."

Aankomst: Avram Iancu LRCL

"Avram Iancu Cluj International Airport (IATA: CLJ, ICAO: LRCL) is an airport serving the city of Cluj-Napoca, Romania. Initially known as Someșeni Airport, it is located 9 km east of the city centre, in the Someșeni area, which is now within the Cluj-Napoca city limits. The airport is named in honour of Romanian revolutionary Avram Iancu.
In terms of passenger traffic, Cluj Airport is the second busiest airport in Romania, after Bucharest Henri Coandă, handling 2.9 million passengers in 2019. Its size and location (on the European route E576 and close to A3 Transylvania Motorway) make it the most important airport in the historical region of Transylvania."
